What is Mighty Line floor tape?

Mighty Line floor tape is a heavy-duty PVC floor marking tape manufactured by Mighty Line in the USA. It is supplied on a 30-meter-long roll and is available in four standard widths. The most common width is 50 millimeters, although 25 mm, 75 mm, and 100 mm are also available.

Mighty Line is supplied in all seven of the 5S colors, and additionally, it is available in yellow with black diagonals and white with red diagonals. Standard colors include yellow, red, white, green, orange, blue, and black.

Mightyline Floor marking tape is the only tape we know of globally which has a 3 year warranty.

What are the speciality tape options?

Mighty Line also offers a range of specialty tapes. These include reflective tapes with a highly reflective strip, which are especially good for warehouses with poor lighting or in the event of a power outage.

Another option for factories prone to power cuts is the Mighty Line floor tape glow. This is a type of tape that glows in the dark, as the name suggests.

Floor tape stripe is a floor marking tape with a contrasting stripe down the middle. Floor tape freezer is a tape designed specifically for use in freezers, down to -25°C. Mighty Line is also available in a clear format. This is ideal for customers wanting to provide a layer of protection to painted walkways.

Mighty Line also offers a wide range of floor signs, including customized floor signs.

The advantages of using mighty line floor tape

The entities we discussed here are in comparison to other floor marking tapes. You are likely reading this article because you want a floor marking tape; therefore, we aren’t comparing them against other floor marking paints or projected solutions. If you want more information on projected floor marking solutions, see this article here.

- Mighty Line is nearly 8 times thicker than the average floor tape.

We consider this the main advantage of using Mighty Line floor marking tape. Most floor marking tapes are just 170 µm thick, which does not provide any durability against forklift trucks, pallet trucks, or any other equipment. This means that you can expect the Mighty Line tape to last over three years in normal service.

- A typical inferior floor marking tape can fail prematurely due to a lack of durability.

- Mighty Line tape has beveled edges.

Some manufacturers recognize the need for sufficient body to make a durable floor marking tape. The challenge here is that it could become either a trip hazard or a snag hazard for pallets and forklift trucks. The Mighty Line floor marking tape has a smooth beveled edge to allow wheels and other objects to easily ride over without snagging.

- Mighty Line floor marking tape has a reinforced rubber adhesive.

A floor marking tape has three main functions. Firstly, it must be easy to apply and hold down. Secondly, it must be strong enough not to lift or peel at the edges, and thirdly, it should be cleanly removable without leaving the adhesive behind. A good floor marking tape will do all three jobs effectively. The adhesive layer on the Mighty Line floor tape is thick enough to absorb microscopic undulations in the texture of the floor.

- Mighty line floor tape is certified Anti-static

Mighty Line floor tape can be used in areas where electronic equipment is used, in electronics manufacturing, in the flexible packaging industry, and in areas where there are highly flammable solvents such as adhesives and coatings.

- Mighty Line floor tape is easy to clean

Keeping a floor clean is a full-time job, especially in a food and beverage environment. One of the most frustrating sights is filthy floor marking tapes. This happens because they often have a rough texture finish like coarse sandpaper to create an anti-slip finish.

The standard Mighty Line floor tape stays clean because it has a smooth, tough exterior that can be easily cleaned. The Mighty Line anti-slip tape is completely different from the rough, sandpaper-like texture seen with standard tapes, as it has an embossed pattern on it. This allows the tape to remain clean while still retaining an anti-slip finish.

- Mighty Line diagonal tapes do not wear out

If you have ever bought black and yellow diagonal striped tape or red and white diagonal striped tape, then you probably know that it doesn’t take long for the black print to wear off, leaving you with a vague yellow tape in your hazard areas. Mighty Line has fixed this problem by coating these diagonal hazard tapes with a clear protective layer to eliminate the print wear issue, meaning that your tape will last as well as it did the day it was bought.

The disadvantages of mighty Line Tapes

Once again, the disadvantages in this section are in comparison to other floor marking tapes rather than other methods of floor marking such as paint or LED projected floor markings.

- It’s expensive

Compared to cheap PVC tape from DIY stores and Screwfix, Mighty Line tape is a significantly larger investment. The savings come for customers when factoring in the time taken to replace damaged and dirty tape, the time taken to clean off the dirty residue left behind by inferior tapes, and the general untidiness and uncleanliness associated with conventional floor marking tapes.

- It’s not designed for Cold rooms or wet room areas

Apart from the Mighty Line freezer grade tape, the standard Mighty Line floor marking tape is designed to operate on clean, dry surfaces between five and 25°C. Operating outside of these temperatures may compromise the adhesion performance.

Where can you use Mighty Line floor Tapes?

Mighty Line floor tapes can be used to indicate workflow, delineate work areas, and mark the proper placement of equipment, tools, inventories, and machinery. The most common use for Mighty Line floor tapes is to define safe walk routes, marking out forklift routes, defining hazardous areas including forklift charging areas, and defining WIP areas.
